Delegates to the DAC are appointed by FECS member societies, which normally is a national chemical society, and must have expertise in a field relevant to analytical chemistry.

Observers may be nominated by inter- and supranational organizations being active in analytical chemistry and national chemical societies outside Europe.

Guests are invited by the DAC Chairperson if their expertise is needed.
