DAC Activities
In 2004 the "Eurocurriculum II on Analytical Chemistry" was published, details of the syllabus are being revised. The second edition of the well accepted textbook "Analytical Chemistry" (Wiley-VCH) appeared. The European Analytical Column is published annually in 10 international journals and several newsletters. The internet site (now at www.dac-euchems.org) and three Letters of Information per year serve efficiently the internal communication. To ensure continuous contacts with the other Divisions and Working Parties individual liaison persons have been appointed by DAC. Bo Karlberg has been elected as DAC Chairman for the years 2005 to 2007.
Euroanalysis XIII in Salamanca - part of the DAC series of biennial comprehensive conferences - attracted more than 800 participants and 600 posters. Among the excellent lectures were the FECS Lecture (Andreas Manz, ISAS - Institute for Analytical Sciences, Dortmund and Berlin, Germany), the recently established Robert-Kellner Lecture (Jarda Ruzicka, Seattle, WA, USA) and the lecture of the Heinrich-Emanuel-Merck Awardee (Yoshinobu Baba, Tokushima, Japan).
