DAC Activities
Following its mission as outlined in the statutes "Procedures and Practices", the DAC focused on improving and extending the network of societies and scientists. DAC is actively encouraging all chemical societies to appoint Delegates or nominate Observers to DAC, or at least to keep contact in some way or other. Since analytical chemistry is involved in virtually all branches of chemistry and molecular sciences, DAC is developing the links to all the other EuCheMS Divisions and working parties.
As an update of the Who's who in Analytical Chemistry (2002, Springer) now a collection of website addresses of analytical institutions is being set up. The underlying idea is that the sojourn of a colleague at such an institution is usually shorter than the life span of the institution itself or its web address. Therefore one should expect a stable list of relevant information sources which are kept updated.
Current information on DAC is available from www.dac-euchems.org which is also accessible via the DAC section of the EuCheMS website. Three Letters of Information are distributed per year for briefing the DAC members, while the scientific public is addressed via the European Analytical Column which yearly appears in numerous renowned journals and newsletters.
