Euroanalysis XIII (FECS Event No. 281)
Salamanca, Spain, 5-10 Sep 2004;
Chair: Prof. J. Hernandez Mendez
José Pingarrón reported during the 2005 Annual Meeting in Stockholm final facts of this very successful conference. 816 scientists coming from 30 European and 19 non-European countries participated. About half the participants were Spanish, the next largest delegations came from Portugal, Italy, Germany, Russia, Brazil, Poland and USA. 10 plenary lectures were presented, including the inaugural Robert Kellner Lecture established by DAC, the FECS Lecture and the Merck Award. In 10 topical symposia 68 presentations and in additional 7 sessions 48 oral contributions were given. In the two poster sessions 636 posters were presented. The 7 pre-conference short courses attracted 111 participants.
As usual the major part of the budget amounting to about 200,000 € was consumed by the costs for printing and mailing, the invited speakers and the organizational secretariat. The DAC share amounts to almost 9000 € which will be used to help the forthcoming EUROANALYSIS with some grants.
Meanwhile the special issue of Anal. Bioanal. Chem. 382(2):243-532 appeared with 41 contributions having been presented at Salamanca along with a guest editorial by Jesús Hernández Méndez and José Luis Pérez Pavón.
